1. About Us
Good Owners Dog Training provides calm-first, force-free dog training services designed for real households, including disability- and low-capacity-friendly support. All services are delivered by a qualified trainer with practical experience and ongoing professional development.
2. Services Provided
We currently offer:
- In-person dog training sessions (1-to-1 and group)
- Behaviour assessments
- Owner education and guidance
All services are training-based, not veterinary or clinical behavioural treatment.
3. Eligibility & Client Responsibility
By booking a service, you confirm that:
- You are 18 years or older
- You are the dog’s legal owner or have permission to handle the dog
- Your dog is fit and healthy enough for training.
- We recommend owners maintain appropriate pet and liability insurance where possible
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your dog’s behaviour and history
- Follow safety guidance during sessions
- Remain responsible for your dog at all times.
4. Behavioural & Safety Disclaimer
Because behaviour change depends on many factors, including environment, consistency, health, and the individual dog, specific behavioural outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Nothing in these Terms removes your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
5. Referral Policy (Important)
We do not accept dogs with:
A known multiple-bite history, severe or high-risk aggression cases
These cases will be referred to a qualified veterinary professional or a certified clinical behaviourist. This ensures the dog and owner receive the appropriate level of care.
6. Bookings & Payments
Bookings are confirmed via direct contact (email/phone). Payment is currently accepted via bank transfer. Full payment may be required before the session to secure your booking. Failure to pay may result in cancellation of the booking.
7. Cancellations & Rescheduling
At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations may result in loss of session or fee. No-shows are non-refundable. We understand that emergencies happen and will approach situations reasonably where possible.
If you book services online, by email, phone, or other remote methods, you may have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
If you request that training services begin during this 14-day period, you agree that:
- services may begin before the cancellation period ends;
- you may be charged for any services already delivered before cancellation;
- and once a service has been fully delivered, you may lose your right to cancel.
To exercise your cancellation rights, please contact us using the details listed below.
8. Refund Policy
Sessions are generally non-refundable once delivered. Refunds are not provided for lack of progress where guidance has not been followed. Exceptional circumstances may be considered at our discretion
9. Liability
Owners remain legally responsible for the behaviour and control of their dog at all times during training sessions.
Good Owners Dog Training will take reasonable care to provide services safely and professionally. However, dog behaviour can be unpredictable, and participation is at the owner’s own risk.
We are not responsible for:
- injury, loss, or damage caused by a dog where reasonable professional care has been exercised;
- loss or damage to personal property during sessions;
- incidents resulting from inaccurate or incomplete behavioural history provided by the owner.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud;
- or any legal rights that cannot be excluded under UK law.
10. Use of Training Methods
Good Owners Dog Training uses Force-free, Welfare-led Calm-first training approaches.
We reserve the right to end a session if a handler uses aversive or harmful methods, or if safety or welfare is compromised. We reserve the right to refuse or end services where:
- safety or welfare is at risk;
- abusive or threatening behaviour occurs;
- important behavioural or bite-history information has not been disclosed;
- or the training environment is unsuitable for safe delivery.
Where appropriate, partial refunds may be considered at our discretion.
